I headed into Providence Canyon on the Ripmo, linking the Grandview approach with Spring Creek, the upper figure eights and the canyon descent. The trail passed beneath red and orange branches, with fallen leaves covering stretches of dirt and rock.

The canyon opened up around grassy clearings before the route returned to the trees. Along the creek, the water ran between rocks below another strip of autumn color.
