I was out in Portland this last weekend and so the Ripmo spent several days sitting in the garage. It was bored and required some alone time together so we headed up Providence Canyon to drink in the colors of Autumn. I usually just ride the trail, but today, for the sake of the view, I chose to climb to the quarry. The ascent only takes about ten minutes but it’s a miserable ten minutes. The climb is on a torn up, steep, jeep road that is fully exposed to the sun. In the Summer it’s killer. The cooler temperatures in the Fall remove the most miserable factor. When you crest the last leg and take in the view the pain melts away and you remember why you still make this climb
