Get Off My Trail
Had serious leg crams last night as my quads and hamstring got revenge for what I put them through on the MTB. Today we compromised and took a recovery ride to Paradise. The sun shone, the temperature was a perfect 70 degrees and there was but a gentile breeze. It’s hard to pick better road bike days. If it wasn’t for meetings and complaining legs
I tried pushing it just a bit today and managed to score a PR on the upper suffer circles. At the top of the trail there was a youth group with bikes, helmets, bags and people spread everywhere. I know that crowded trails can become a problem but I love to see people get out into the outdoors. I think it makes us all better.
I hate riding in the rain so I’m still stuck inside. Lucky for me The Herd rode today. It’s a Zwift group I love to join. I get pretty lazy when I ride solo. It’s starting to get hot during the day. It rained last night. I decided to seize the moment between rain and getting hot. I ran the usual loops and came across this guy. Always nice to have traveling companion. The ride – Providence Canyon The bike – Ibis Ripmo
It’s getting hot which means the higher speeds on the road and my profuse sweating are key to staying cool. As long as I get out before 12 the traffic is still light and the teenagers are in school – both lessen the probability of interaction with vehicles. I was time boxed by meetings so I pushed a little and managed a 20.4 MPH average
A crazy day of meetings and general work meant I didn’t ride until evening. I can’t complain the temperature was in the 70s and even though the trail was a bit busier than if you hit in in the early hours there wasn’t a terrible amount of congestion. Took and evening ride with Devin. We had a great time. He was climbing hard. We got to the top and his front tire was totally deflated. The sealant had dried out leaving him with a slow leak. Luckily, another ride lent us a pump. He managed to get half way down but was robbed from the full downhill experience when the front tire finally
