Providence is perfect
The Fall colors are spectacular and we continue to have perfect weather. I very well might have died and have been rewarded with MTB heaven. The ride – Providence Canyon, Utah The bike – Ripmo

At least once a year I talk myself into a ride that “won’t be that hard”. These rides usually involve starting out with a route I’m familiar with and then extending it. The not to hard bits are the portions I’ve never ridden. Those parts always end up being harder than I think they will be. I’ve watched a lot of locals make this loop
On loop three the cows were coming down the trail while I was going up. That was my sign that it was time to go. They are not fast and it is pretty crappy to follow a herd of cows anywhere. The ride – Providence Canyon, Utah The bike – Ripmo
Just two loops to burn out the quads. Two loops to enjoy the feast for the eyes that is just starting to get underway. The ride – Providence Canyon, Utah The bike – Ripmo
I keep thinking I can delay riding because the Autumn weather is here. I am wrong. It still gets very hot very fast and so I gave up a lot of sweat on this ride. The air is cooling. There are hints of Fall on the trees and the sun flowers are still in full bloom. The trails are all moon dust and marbles but that shouldn’t stop anyone from doing laps in Providence. The ride – Providence Canyon, Utah The bike – Ripmo
Usually the golden light only lasts a short while as the sun comes up or goes down. The light has been orange all day to day and it’s impossible to see the mountains. Somewhere there is a forest burning to the ground. In the mountains around us Autumn has started. The ride – Providence Canyon, Utah The bike – Ripmo

My Assegais have seen better days so it was time for new ones. I always forget how nice and grippy new tires are. While enjoying Providence Canyon the road crews closed and started chip sealing my path home so I added some distance to the ride on the return. The ride – Providence Canyon, Utah The bike – Ripmo
There’s a new bridge going in in Providence. The current bridge is fine but instead of building new trails or clearing some existing ones the Forrest Service has the need to randomly show up and throw off the flow that a lot of volunteers have perfected over years of hard work.
