I missed a couple of the weekend Tour de Zwift rides while I was outside loving the snow. With a bunch of meetings and obligations my riding pretty much sucked but I checked a couple of stages off the list. The ride – Zwift The bike – Trek Madone 6.9 on a Wahoo Kickr Smart Trainer
I don’t know that there has ever a year gifted with so many days of perfect trails. A large part of that perfection is due to the constant work of a lot of volunteers working hard to maintain that perfection. I feel guilty any day I don’t indulge in the perfect winter rides in these perfect winter trails. The ride – Green Canyon The bike
In the summer I typically ride a several loops at the top of Providence Canyon. The trail was perfect and I even though most of the feeling in my hands was we gone I took advantage of the perfect conditions and made a second loop. Then I climbed up the road for a while which would usually be miserable but with the cold temperature was
rm today having been lovingly groomed by local volunteers. The sun reflected beautifully off the snow. The trail past the upper parking lot towards the Mt Naomi Wilderness was also in fine form for a while. The nightmare doesn’t begin for a mile or so. Once again working to burn up my legs while barely keeping up. I rode the A (long) and C (short) rides and did a couple of laps around the volcano while waiting for them to start. Now I will go eat chocolate to make myself feel better. The ride – Zwift The equipment I’m super lucky and my wife bought me a Wahoo KICKR. It’s
Late on this Saturday afternoon I managed to get away for a little bit and was rewarded with a perfect trail and spectacular conditions. I’ve been slow getting out of the canyon in the past and I’ve had to pick my way out in the dark. For years I swore I would by a bike light and I finally got around to it. I was
Green Canyon is almost always a beautifully groomed, hard packed, ice road. At the beginning of the trail the air bit at any of my exposed skin and pierced deep and painful. The hard packed icy snow crunched loudly but the trail was smooth, sticky and fast. As I ascended the last section towards the Mt Naomi Wilderness I didn’t expect much given that the
