A dirt path winding through a lush green forest with sunlight filtering through the trees. Rocks and scattered leaves line the trail, leading to an opening in the background. Taken in Providence Canyon, Utah.

It’s a hot canyon but a Dry Canyon so it’s not that bad

It started with a few loops on Providence and then a need to get cell service so I could take a call. I had time after that so I took the Bonneville shoreline trail. I still had time and as I was at the bottom of the trail into Dry Canyon I started climbing. My memory told me that this was a tough climb. I

Summerfest

I and the Bianchi took a joyride into Logan Canyon on our favorite route. My daughter had a booth in Summerfest and so I ended my ride with a visit to tell her hi. The fish painting on the top right turned out to be a huge hit. The ride – Providence, Utah, United States The bike – Bianchi Cavaria

Sea of gold

I saw another rider do this loop on Strava. I had heard rumors of the wildflowers so I wanted to follow in their footsteps. This was to be a slightly technical climb with mind blowing visual rewards. The mountains are covered in a sea of gold with tiny islands of purple and red. The ride – Mud Flats loop in reverse The bike – Ripmo

Way down we go

It’s funny how photos never capture elevation changes. That is a ten foot drop into a ravine that is part of the upper loop in Providence. It’s fun. This morning I managed 59:30 from my house to the very top of the trail just below the old quarry. It nearly killed me. My legs complained on every subsequent loop. I wouldn’t trade it. Nothing beats

My skull is OK

The mountains called and I could no longer resist. Skull Crack started easy, turned into a pretty good climb, rewarded me with spectacular views and then stabbed me in the leg. It’s a very overgrown trail and I’m guessing it doesn’t see a lot of wheeled traffic. The branches from low scrub oak grab and scratch at your arms and legs. One rogue branch caught

Windy grindy good times

North Fork Park is a great introduction to the pure joy of riding a trail because the trail is awesome. We started on Spork which is MTB only and directional depending on the day. These guys showed no fear or any drop or switchback. There are climbs but they don’t last so long that they wear out my youngest. After Spork we rode 365 and
