The Forest service is adding fees to ride green. Public lands are become less public and now everyone wants a fee. The Forest service claims it is needed to maintain the area. That’s funny because volunteers have been maintaining it for years. I suspect they will collect their fees and we’ll not see them come around unless it is to check to make sure you’ve paid your fees.
Green was perfect up to the yurt. Small sections of ice resulted in some slip sliding around but nothing that could hamper the pure joy of almost perfect conditions. I was having a great time until I started the ascent past the yurt to head to wilderness at which point it turned in a post holed disaster. I persevered for a while but riding the eternal washboard is not much fun. I gave up to return to a perfect descent down the ice highway.
